Gabby represents clients who are experiencing a variety of legal concerns, from divorce to criminal charges. She has proven herself to be adept as a skilled negotiator and advocate as well as a vigorous litigator when necessary to serve her clients’ interests. In addition to being a certified Guardian ad Litem, Gabby holds J.D. certificates in Trial Advocacy and Alternative Dispute Resolution and is active with the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers and DuPage County Bar Association. Gabby was also named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2022, a peer-nominated award for exemplary talent and dedication.

McSwain Nagle Giese & Rapp, P.C. is excited to share the recent accomplishments of two of the firm’s family law attorneys. Attorneys Jessica Defino and Lisa Giese have both made tremendous strides in the legal profession in the last month, and they continue to demonstrate the passion and commitment that the firm instills in its everyday practice. McSwain Nagle Giese & Rapp, P.C (MNGR) is led by four female partners and is thrilled to support members of the team as they champion women throughout the professional landscape.

Jessica L. Defino, an associate attorney with MNGR since its inception, has been elected president of the DuPage County Chapter of the Justinian Society of Lawyers. Attorney Defino was sworn in as President by Judge Michael Reidy on May 19, 2022. The Justinian Society of Lawyers believes in strengthening relationships among its members and enhancing the legal profession as a whole. As president, Jessica Defino looks forward to restoring several of the society’s events and programs that were put on pause due to the pandemic, such as the Justinian Socials and the Society’s scholarship program.

Attorney Defino has invested a substantial amount of her time contributing to the betterment of numerous professional associations. Even before being admitted to the Illinois State Bar, Jessica Defino was involved with the Justinian Society as a law student, and she has also been actively involved in the DuPage County Bar Association throughout her career, currently serving on its Board of Directors as well as various committees. A certified mediator and guardian ad litem, Attorney Defino serves family law clients from MNGR’s Wheaton and Geneva offices.

The merged firm, McSwain Nagle Giese & Rapp, P.C., will consist of four experienced partners and six associate attorneys with distinct and varying legal backgrounds. The firm dedicates its legal efforts to family law matters, criminal proceedings, real estate closings, estate planning, and bankruptcy cases.

Attorney Emily Rapp is an established and trusted attorney in Kane and DuPage Counties and the surrounding areas. Her position as the President of the Kane County Bar Association exemplifies her commitment to the legal profession and families of Illinois.
